Connie Buchanan

2018 Inductee

Ms. Constance (Connie) Leshea Buchanan was a member of the Ridgeland High School class of 2006.

During her illustrious high school tenure, she participated in basketball all four years, softball her sophomore year and volleyball her junior year. She was a member of an Elite 8 7-AAA runner-up softball team, and during her senior year, she received the Senior Athletic Award…but it was in basketball that Ms. Buchanan really made her mark.

She was named NGAC All Conference Basketball for 2001-02. During her four years as a member of the Lady Panthers basketball team, she was a member of the legendary 2003 state Final Four basketball team. She was named the 2004-05 GASports.com Coaches All Region 2nd team. she was named 2005-06 Make a Wish Foundation MVP, and she was also named to the 2005-06 Basketball Dream Team.

After graduation, she continued to play basketball, first as a member of the Chattanooga State Community College Lady Tigers basketball team from 2006-08, and then as a Morehead State University Lady Eagle from 2008-10.

A truly great Panther, it is my honor to induct Ms. Constance (Connie) Leshea Buchanan into the inaugural Ridgeland High School Hall of Fame class.
