Latrice McLin

2018 Inductee

Ms. Latrice McLin was a member of the Ridgeland High School Class of 1994

During her career as a Ridgeland Panther, she participated in varsity basketball and volleyball all four years. Among her many high school accolades are the following honors:

  • All Tri-State (Sophomore, Junior and Senior year)

  • Tri-State Player of the Year (Senior year)

  • All-State 1st Team, Senior year; 2nd Team All-State, Junior year

  • Terrific Ten-Top 10 Female Basketball Players in the state of Georgia, Senior year

  • Scrappy Moore Girls Basketball Player of the Year, Senior year

  • Female Prep Player of the Year Naismith Awards, Senior year

  • Northwest Georgia Player of the Year, Senior year

  • Best of Preps Player of the Year, Senior year

  • News Channel 12 Player of the Year, Senior year

  • All North Georgia Player of the Year, Senior year

  • Georgia All-Star Game (starter)

  • Georgia-Tennessee All-Star Game (starter)

  • Volleyball All-State, Senior year

  • First Student-Athlete at RHS to have jersey retired (#5)

Following high school, Ms. McLin accepted an offer from Florida State University over the University of Florida, the University of Kentucky, Mississippi State University, and the University of South Carolina. As a Seminole, she was a three-year starter on the basketball team, a team Co-Rookie of the Year, a Co-Captain her Sophomore year, an All-SEC Honorable Mention Selection her Sophomore year, and was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll her Senior year. She followed her college years as a college women’s basketball coach for 13 years at Appalachian State University, Samford University, and Western Kentucky University.

In addition to her athletic accolades, she participated in FBLA while at Ridgeland, was the President of the FCA during her senior year, and was on the Yearbook Committee her senior year. She finished in the top 10% of her class at RHS. She went on to be inducted in the Seminole Torchbearers Alumni Organization in 1998, and was the Founder and President of Florida State University’s Memphis Alumni Club.
