Renita Clark-Dupas 's time as a Lady Panther was nothing short of extraordinary. Her basketball prowess was evident from the very beginning, highlighted by a school record-setting performance of 10 for 10 free throws in a single game in 1999—a testament to her focus and skill. Throughout her high school career, she consistently earned recognition, being named Player of the Week and Player of the Month by multiple media outlets, including UCTV, FOTV, and the Walker County Messenger.
Her impressive list of accolades includes being named the North Georgia Tip-Off Club Most Valuable Player and selection to the prestigious Tri-State Best of Preps All-Star Team, both in 2001. By the time she graduated, Renita had amassed an astounding 1,229 career points, solidifying her place among the school’s basketball elite. But her accomplishments weren’t limited to the court. She was also a member of the Beta Club and graduated in the top 10% of her class, demonstrating her commitment to academic excellence.
Renita's basketball journey continued beyond Ridgeland, as she played at the collegiate level for Reinhardt University, Chattanooga State, and ultimately, Carson-Newman University, where she completed her junior and senior years. Her dedication to the game and her pursuit of higher education are a testament to her character and drive. Tonight, we honor Renita Clark-Dupas, a true Ridgeland Panther, for her remarkable achievements both on and off the court.
