The Ridgeland Athletics Hall of Fame proudly inducts Sharone "Ronie" Porter, a two-sport standout whose impact on the football field and basketball court, and whose infectious spirit, left an enduring legacy. A two-way starter on the 2012 State Finalist football team, Ronie's contributions were often pivotal. While the final moments of the semi-final game are well-remembered, it was Ronie's blocked extra point earlier in the game that proved to be the deciding factor in the Panthers' historic trip to the Georgia Dome. His knack for making big plays, combined with his passion and dedication, earned him All-Region honors and a selection to the TN-GA All-Star game. More than his athletic achievements, Ronie's positive influence and unwavering spirit touched countless lives. His memory continues to inspire the Ridgeland community. Ronie Porter is a cherished member of the Class of 2024.
